I t is almost 25 years since Sr de Lourdes was appointed as Parish Sister. She had worked as a teacher in Holy Family School from 1976—1999 and following her early retirement, she began her new role as Parish Sister. | |
| During her years in the Pastoral Centre, she has supported many ministries such as the Baptism Group, St Vincent de Paul Society, Rainbows, St Joseph’s Young Priests Society, the Mothers Prayer Group as well as her welcoming presence in the Pastoral Centre. After a quarter of a century of service, she has decided to retire from her role. The Parish Pastoral Council are organising a farewell celebration to mark this significant event. The celebration will take place on Monday February 12th at 2.30pm. It will be our opportunity to express our gratitude as well as wishing her a long and happy retirement. All are welcome to attend. | ||

A word of welcome to Sean Murphy from Glencar who is a student for the priesthood for the diocese of Kerry and has been assigned to our parish for this year for his pastoral placement—from this week until next April. He previously spent two weeks in our parish during June. We welcome him to our parish and wish him every blessing in his assignment. |
If you are a taxpayer and have kindly donated €250 or more in total in the past year, this scheme allows the Parish to claim a refund on the tax paid on that amount. This includes contributions to the weekly envelope collection, Easter dues,
Christmas dues and November Offerings.

We express our closeness in prayer and support for those with the Covid-19 virus and those impacted in any way by it in what are very difficult circumstances. We are mindful especially of those seriously ill in hospital, those who have died, and family and loved ones.
We wish to express our thanks to priests and sacristans as well as the many volunteers in our churches who ensure that all the requirements around the sanitising of our churches are observed. We also acknowledge with gratitude the care and help of undertakers in implementing the restrictions.
We want to highlight some points that we consider important in relation to the implementation of public health guidelines in the context of bereavements and funerals. We do so for the benefit of all concerned – mourners, undertakers, neighbours and friends as well as priests and public authorities –, that we might have a common understanding of good practice around funerals aimed at keeping people safe from the virus. It is vital we take all precautions to prevent the further spread of Covid-19. In offering this guidance we recognise and appreciate that the vast majority of Catholics carefully observe the public health guidelines.
We are delighted to see so many people returning to Mass after many months.

HOLY COMMUNION: As the system for Holy Communion worked well during Covid times, we encourage people to come forward for Holy Communion row-by-row, starting from the front and to receive on the hand only.
OFFERTORY COLLECTION: We have resumed the basket collections. Many thanks for your co-operation and thanks also to the volunteers as new collectors.
Mass each day, Monday to Saturday at 9.30am.
Weekend Masses on Saturday at 6.30pm and Sunday at 10am, 11.15am & 12.30pm
RADIO KERRY: Our regular Parish Mass on Sundays at 10am, will be broadcast live.
